On February 21, 2024, in Ankara, with the support of the Turkish Economic Policy Research Foundation (TEPAV), the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey held an international conference "Russia's War on Ukraine: Recovery and Humanitarian Dimension". The event was devoted to two key areas: the restoration of Ukraine and the humanitarian dimension of the war's consequences.
The conference brought together more than 100 participants - representatives of government agencies, business, diplomatic corps and non-governmental organizations - who shared their views and supported an active discussion on the critical need for international support for Ukraine in this important period. Particular attention was paid to the importance of implementing reconstruction projects with the participation of Turkish companies, which play a key role in this process and serve as a vivid example of international cooperation.
During the opening of the conference, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey Vasyl Bodnar said:
We do not seek to rebuild the past, we seek to build a competitive future for Ukraine and Ukrainians.
Turkish officials assured of their unwavering support until Ukraine's wounds are fully healed. Business representatives also emphasized their commitment to continuing projects in Ukraine, even in the difficult conditions of war.
The humanitarian aspect of the conference focused on the need for further support for Ukrainian orphans living in Turkey.
The conference participants unanimously stated that assistance to Ukraine is, first and foremost, a strategic investment in international security and global order.
