Tauric Chersonese and its chora are the remains of an ancient city, founded in the 5th century BCE as a colonial settlement of the Dorian Greeks, located on the Heraclean Peninsula in south-west Crimea, Ukraine. In 2013, the ancient city of Chersoneso sand its chora (agricultural district) were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as a result ofmany years of research, the hard work of professional archaeologists and conservators in the latter half of the 20th century.
