There is significant potential for the development of bilateral strategic scientific and technical cooperation in the aerospace and defense industries. Following high-level political meetings in 2016-2017, the parties agreed to establish a joint working group, the Strategic Projects Coordination Working Group (WG), to oversee these projects. Thanks to the effective functioning of the WG, Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation currently encompasses a wide range of ongoing and future joint strategic projects, covering areas such as aviation and space, ground systems, navy and shipbuilding, special equipment, and instrument building.

Currently, the parties are actively working on implementing the agreements made at the highest level. This includes the establishment of a joint aircraft construction enterprise, the modernization of Turkish armored vehicles with Ukrainian protection systems and dynamic armor, and equipping them with Ukrainian power units produced domestically.

Cooperation in the field of aircraft engine construction for Turkish UAVs and other aviation platforms is also a rapidly developing area. Overall, cooperation in the aerospace and defense industries encompasses approximately 30 projects.
