Foreign Policy 

Turkish businesses contributed to the initiative of Olena Zelenska Foundation to support foster familiesin Ukraine. 

• Chernivtsi (Ukraine) and Izmir (Türkiye) signed Sister City Agreement

• At least 19 546 Ukrainian children will not share the joy of the holidays with their families because they were illegally deported from Ukraine by Russian occupational forces. 

• Netherlands prepared the first 18 F-16 fighter jets for delivery to Ukraine. 

• Ukraine is strengthening cooperation with ASEAN. Ukrainian Parliament ratified the law "On the accession of Ukraine to the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in Southeast Asia“ that was signed in 2022

• President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Radosław Sikorski, during the latter’s first foreign visit


Home and the Frontline 

• Ukraine increased nitrogen fertilizer production by 81% (2050 thousand tons in 2023 vs. 1130 thousand tons in 2022). 

• Total Russian combat losses since February 24, 2022 - to 27.12.2023 are: personnel – 355 750, tanks – 5 913, ACV – 10 973, artillery system – 8 376. 

• The Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 5 Russian fighter jets

• Russian Ropucha class landing ship was sunk by precise Ukrainian strikes in the occupied Crimea. 20% of Russian Black Sea fleet has been destroyed


Grain from Ukraine 

Ukraine's Danube ports have become an integral part of the new UA logistics strategy. Over 11 months, transshipment at these ports totalled 31 million tonnes, which is an absolute record. Private investors contributed to the opening of 23 new cargo transshipment terminals. 

• Ukrainian railways manufactured the first ever EU compatible hopper wagon to simplify UA export logistics.

• On 21 December 2023 Ukrainian national pride – the largest and most powerful transport aircraft An 225 Mriya (Dream) would celebrate its 35 anniversary of the first maiden flight. It was destroyed on 27 February 2022 in its home airfield by the Russian forces in their attempt to capture Kyiv. We hope that one day Mriya will come back to the sky.
