▪ Letter “Ї” (yi)
The letter "Ї“ is the thirteenth in Ukrainian alphabet. Ukrainians in Mariupol also first used it as the symbol of resistance against Russian aggression under occupation in 2022 and continue to widely use it in all temporarily occupied territories.
The “Ї” was first mentioned in the Old Kyivan literature. Deep historical roots of the letter debunk the myths of Russian propaganda about the artificial nature of Ukrainian nation. Read more here.
