Home and the Frontline 

• On December 29, 2023, Russia attacked Ukraine with 158 missiles and UAVs.  

• On January 2, 2024, Russia launched the world's largest combined missile and hypersonic  attack. 10/10 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, 59/70 cruise missiles, 35/35 Shahed UAV, 3/3  Kalibr cruise missiles were shot down by Ukrainian Air Defence Forces.  

• Total Russian combat losses since February 24, 2022 - to 03.01.2024 are: personnel – 361  500, tanks – 5 990, ACV – 11 107, artillery system – 8 546. 

• Ukrainian MOD Rustem Umerov thanked his UK counterpart for completing the basic training  of Ukrainian fighter pilots on the F-16 aircraft. 

• Over 23 000 houses were repaired by UNHCR Ukraine in regions affected by the RU attacks.  

• In 2023, Metinvest Group's steelmakers in Ukraine introduced 25 new products, including 14  new products launched jointly with Zaporizhstal JV.  

• Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine has been named Central Banker of the Year 2024 in The Banker’s Global and Europe category. 


Foreign Policy 

• Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on five steps to stop the Russians’ murder of civilians in  Ukraine.  

 Anka III, a Turkish stealth drone powered by Ukrainian engine, completed its debut flight.  

• Ukraine expands its diplomatic presence worldwide.  

• Ukraine and Canada strengthen cooperation to protect Ukrainian sky and discuss work on  security guarantees.  

• President of Ukraine discussed defense cooperation with the UK Prime Minister. Grain from Ukraine 

• Around 13 mln tons of products have been exported through Ukrainian corridor by 400  vessels to 24 countries.

• “Slava Ukraini! Glory to the heroes!“  

This slogan has become a symbol of Ukraine's resistance to Russia's unprovoked aggression.  The slogan dates back to the 19th century and was first mentioned in a poem by Taras  Shevchenko, a famous Ukrainian poet and philosopher. 

The widest distribution and variations the slogan had during the Ukrainian Revolution (1917- 1921) and was the slogan of Ukrainian fighters for independence. In 2018 it became the  military salute in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies. Read more here.
