On 26-27 November 2024, members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's Parliamentary Group for Interparliamentary Relations with Türkiye paid an workıng visit to the Republic of Türkiye. The delegation included Akhtem Chiygoz, Mustafa Dzhemilev, Oleh Synyutka and Mykola Kniazhytskyi.
As part of the visit, the Ukrainian delegation met with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, and members of the Grand National Assembly's Ukraine Friendship Group. The delegation also held talks with Chief Advisor to the President of Türkiye Yalcin Topçu and Rector of Haci Bayram Veli University Professor Naji Bostancı.
During the talks, the parties discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation, ensuring stability in the region and achieving a just and sustainable peace based on the Peace Formula proposed by Ukraine. The Ukrainian delegation stressed the need to strengthen international support for Ukraine in countering Russian aggression. Special attention was paid to the heroism of the Ukrainian people, who have been resisting the full-scale war unleashed by Russia for more than 1,000 days, as well as to the unbreakable will of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, who are fighting together for their free future. The delegation underlined the importance of inviting Ukraine to join NATO as a guarantor of its European perspective and security.
The Turkish side reaffirmed its unwavering and principled position in support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Ukrainian MPs also took part in a conference dedicated to the anniversary of the Holodomor and Russia's oppression of the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar peoples, and visited the General Centre of the Crimean Tatar Diaspora in Ankara.
