
On April 16–18, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, paid a visit to the Republic of Türkiye, where he participated in the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan.
During the visit, Andrii Sybiha delivered a speech at #ADFTalk. In his remarks, he emphasized efforts to end the war, strengthen Ukraine’s positions both on the battlefield and in diplomacy, increase pressure on Russia and its partners, and highlighted Ukraine’s emerging role as a security partner, which became particularly evident following developments in the Gulf region.
In addition, Andrii Sybiha held a substantive bilateral meeting covering the full agenda with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan. The Minister congratulated his Turkish counterpart and the team of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye on the successful organization of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum and invited him to visit Ukraine at the earliest opportunity. Further meetings were also held with the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Türkiye Alparslan Bayraktar and representatives of leading Turkish companies.
The Minister also met with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger; the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, Thorgerdur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir; the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Khalilur Rahman; the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty; the Minister of International Relations of Botswana, Dr.Phenyo Butale; the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, Yvette Cooper; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Baiba Braže; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys; the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov; the Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence of Ireland, Thomas Byrne; the Minister of National Defence of Mozambique, Major General Cristóvão Chume; the Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa; the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Feridun Sinirlioğlu; and the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Radmila Shekerinska.
The series of bilateral meetings held during the forum became a consistent continuation and further development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. They were aimed at advancing Ukraine’s agenda in the international arena, promoting trade, identifying new markets for Ukrainian goods, and developing new logistics routes amid instability in global markets.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Minister also held brief meetings with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu; the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev; the Ecumenical Patriarch, Bartholomew I of Constantinople; and other influential figures.
The Minister’s negotiations continued the momentum of the historic tour by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to the Gulf states and his visits to European countries earlier that week, reinforcing and further developing their outcomes and Ukraine’s role as a security partner.
