During his visit to the Republic of Türkiye on April 10–12, 2025, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha participated in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum and held 23 meetings with foreign partners over the course of two days.
The visit began on April 10 with a meeting with the Ukrainian community in Antalya. Minister Sybiha also met with representatives of Ukrainian businesses and held a separate meeting with Turkish business representatives who serve as Honorary Consuls of Ukraine in Türkiye.
On April 11, Minister Sybiha held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Angola, Benin, The Gambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Mozambique, Rwanda, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Tunisia.
Among the key outcomes were: the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Federal Republic of Somalia; decisions by The Gambia and Mozambique to reassign their non-resident ambassadors to Ukraine from Moscow to Türkiye and Germany respectively; and the affirmation of support by all aforementioned African states for Ukraine’s efforts toward a just and lasting peace.
On April 12, Minister Sybiha took part in the panel discussion "European Security at a Turning Point" at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. He emphasized the importance of reforming international humanitarian law.
The Minister also met with the Minister of Trade of Türkiye Ömer Bolat and President of the Defence Industry Agency Haluk Görgün to discuss the further development of the Ukraine–Türkiye strategic partnership. He affirmed Ukraine's appreciation of Türkiye's role in ensuring stability and freedom of navigation in the Black Sea.
Minister Sybiha also held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations and coordinating efforts within international organizations, including the United Nations. During a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas, Minister Sybiha expressed gratitude for their support and co-sponsorship of Ukraine’s latest UN resolution.
Additionally, Minister Sybiha met with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, Juraj Blanár, thanking Slovakia for its solidarity and discussing recent diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
In a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, the two ministers discussed bilateral economic cooperation, energy security, and regional stability.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset and expressed gratitude for the Council’s steadfast solidarity and leadership in efforts to hold Russia accountable for violations of international law. They also discussed further steps to ensure justice for crimes committed by the Russian Federation.
Minister Sybiha met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu to brief him on Russia’s violations of the energy ceasefire and ongoing terror against civilians, stressing the need for the release of OSCE staff members Maksym Petrov, Vadym Holda, and Dmytro Shabanov, who have been unlawfully imprisoned in Russia for more than three years.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also held meetings with his counterparts from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine continues its global diplomatic engagement in pursuit of a just peace and the strengthening of bilateral relations.
